President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly-elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal amidst a special ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas today. On the occasion, the newly-elected Prime Minister took oath in the name of the country and the people. Likewise, President Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Deputy Prime Ministers Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Bahadur Mahara on the occasion. The President also administered the oath of office and secrecy of the post of Government Minister to Ramesh Lekhak, Gauri Shankar Chaudhary and Daljeet Shreepali. Present at the function were Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, the outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Speaker Onsari Gharti, the former Vice President, the former Prime Ministers and Deputy Prime Ministers, former Ministers, Heads of Constitutional Bodies, Chiefs of the security bodies, government high-ranking officials, heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions, leaders of different political parties, journalists, industrialists and businessmen among others. Following the swearing-in ceremony, President Bhandari hosted high-tea in honour of Prime Minister Dahal at the Sheetal Niwas premises. Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), was elected to the post of Prime Minister in an election held in the Legislature-Parliament on Wednesday

A man armed with a knife went on a rampage in a city outside Tokyo, Japan, killing at least 19 people. The attack happened about 2:30 Tuesday morning, local time, at a facility for the handicapped in Sagamihara NHK World reports that at least 15 people were killed and as many as 45 others were wounded. The suspect, a man in his 20s, turned himself in to police after the incident. Officials say the man confessed to the stabbings and has been arrested on murder charges.<br />

A suicide attacker hit a minibus in the Afghan capital, Kabul, early on Monday, killing 14 Nepali security guards, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed.A yellow minibus carrying Nepal and Afghan security guards was hit by a suicide bomber in the Banae area, PD9 Kabul city at 5:40 this morning.A statement issued by the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed all the victims are Nepali citizens. Nine others—five Nepalis and four Afghans—were injured in the attack, the ministry stated further.Condemning the incident, the ministry has expresses its condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.BBC reported the attacker was on foot and waited for the bus to leave the compound housing the security contractors. Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack is said to be in revenge for execution of six Taliban prisoners.

Nepal will soon have its own ship, that too with its flag hoisted, waving proudly if we are to believe PM K P Sharma Oli. Speaking at a programme organised by CPN-UML aligned women association in Kathmandu on Tuesday, PM Oli said that his detractors have been terrified by his plan to construct the Fast-Track road and railway project but the government is focused on its goal.It's a fact that happened during the time of Prithivi Narayan Saha. The Royal Nepal shipping corporation bought Nepal's flag carrier vessel but which was never successful. The name of the ship was given to the wife of king Prithivi Narayan Saha knows as Narendra Rajya Laxmi Devi. The ship arrived in the port of Kolkata after 22 days of initial order made however Nepal didn't made another approach to pay off second installment of purchase and the ship was returned.The major investors for the ship was Ravi Samsher Rana.
